Summary:	This original drawing by Sir Charles Grey, (1808-1892) was subsequently etched by John Kirkwood, (fl. 1826-1853) and published as a plate to the "Dublin University Magazine", xvii, 1841. Whole-length portrait of Philip Meadows Taylor, (1808-1876), colonel and Indian officer, author of "Confessions of a Thug". Meadows Taylor is seated by a table, his right arm resting on it, looking to left, side-whiskers and moustache, legs crossed with Meadows Taylor's autograph at bottom right of sheet.
