| Summary: | This is the original artwork that was reproduced and published on page 93 of the edition of 'The Lepracaun', published in September 1907. Signed in ink lower left of image: "Fitzpatrick" by the artist Thomas Fitzpatrick. Featuring caricature portraits in ink of John Redmond and other Irish Parliamentary Party M.P.'s., being cast out of the House of Lords along with the Evicted Tenants Bill, portrayed here as being torn to shreads and screaming - it has a face (with a small plaster on it); hands and one leg - the other has been torn off and is being held aloft by the Speaker of the House. John Redmond lies in the foregound - a shilleagh [club] is on the ground in front of him with the word "Chairman" written across it. Accompanied by a page 93 of the edition of 'The Lepracaun', published in September 1907, which featured this image. Text underneath published illustration reads: "Home Rule By Instalments. His Lordship - "There's your bill, and you can pick up the bits, and be thankful you are going home with something. Now is it 'Down with the House of Lords?'". "The House of Lords were mutilating the Government measures, and it would be impossible for the Government to avoid appealing to the country on that question. From his point of view the sooner the General Election came the better". (Hear, hear!) - Mr. John Redmond at the Mansion House, Dublin, 4th Sept., 1907. After twenty "golden" years of Parliamentarianism, Mr. Redmond has accepted the mutilated remains of the Evicted Tenants Bill, and yet, Mr. Redmond is speaking about Home Rule".
