Walter Duncan was a London painter and water colourist and son of the English master painter, Edward Duncan (1803-1882). He exhibited prolifically at the old watercolour society and also the Royal Academy, Suffolk Street, New Watercolour Society, Grosvenor Gallery and the New Gallery. His subjects were mostly coastal scenes and seascapes, though few are in evidence in the present exhibition.
