Wilde addresses an unknown Countess, saying he cannot call on her due to the 'dangerous influenza' of his mother, to whom he is deeply attached. He hopes to be able to call the following week, however, to visit 'so brilliant and wonderful a personality'.
The letter, which is undated, is written from 16 Tite Street [London].
