Text below this image states that "The Standard of Emerald shall float proudly and free from the green hills of Ireland - the Gem of the Sea". On either side of the print are portraits of six Irishmen: Daniel O'Connell, John Philpot Curran, Father Theobald Mathew, Robert Emmet, Henry Grattan and Colonel Thomas F. Burke. Below are three scenes from Irish History. One is of a knight in armour called a "Fenian of Old". One is of the Battle of Clontarf and the last one shows "The Fenian of 1866". At foot of sheet: "Electrotype by Smith & McDougal, 82 Beekman St., New York".
