The Irish Invincibles and their friends
Portraits of some of the Invincibles arrested and tried in relation to the Phoenix Park Murders - when the Permanent Under Secretary Thomas Henry Burke and new Chief Secretary for Ireland, Lord Frederick Cavendish were murdered (the latter on the very first day of his arrival to Ireland while walking with Burke in Phoenix Park), in Dublin on 6 May 1882. Manuscript writing on verso dated March 22nd, 1892.
