Famine in Ireland.

The scene here represented is from the description of eye-witnesses, but the more revolting features are omitted. The average number of deaths daily from starvation in many parishes in the South amounts to 25. "If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food and one of you say unto them depart in peace, be ye warmed & filled, notwithstanding, ye give them not those things which are needful what doth it profit?" /
