Summary: | Correspondence relating to Niall Montgomery’s Traffic Symbol installation that was first displayed in The Bank of Ireland in 1975 as part of an exhibition by the Dublin Arts Festival. Much of the content consists of correspondence with the Dublin Arts Festival, Gerald Davis and Ethna Waldron of the Municipal Gallery of Modern Art, Hugh Lane Gallery, the Bank of Ireland and Sir Basil Goulding and Ronald Tallon of the Contemporary Irish Art Society. Also includes reviews, invoices, receipts, correspondence with GEC Road Signals and Elliott Traffic Automation Limited, as well as sketches and his original plans and submission of the sculpture. |
