Summary: | Letter 1, dated 13th Dec. 1939, is from S.R. Lysaght to Max Benedikt, addressed to 2 Warren Farm Cottages, Streatley, Berkshire. Lysaght acknowledges a letter from Benedikt, and discusses a translation Benedikt made of Lysaght's poem 'To My Comrades'. Letter 2, dated 12th Jan. 1942, is from Moira Lysaght, granddaughter of S.R. Lysaght, to Max Benedikt. The original address in Shropshire has been crossed out and replaced with P.O. Box 6, Evesham, Worcestershire. Ms Lysaght acknowledges a letter from Benedikt (perhaps on the occasion of her grandfather's death in August 1941) and apologises for the delay in replying. She says she will send him a photograph of S.R. Lysaght as requested. |
