Recipe book containing cures, remedies and recipes, transcribed into two hands. Included are recipes (dating from circa the late 18th or early 19th century, for puddings, roasts, cordials, preserves, ketchups, jellies, cakes, pickling, drops and ointments and remedies for illness such as coughs, small pox, scurvey, rhumatism, tinctures for 'collick' and a cure for 'a bite of a mad dog'. Also included are recipes transcribed in a second hand, signed by 'R.J.' and dated 1883-1885. |
