Bibliographic Details
Summary:	Ground plan featuring the layout and key dimensions of the kitchen areas and location of the doors of Castle Dodard, [sometimes Castle Dollard], Knockaungarriff, Co. Waterford built by Thomas Allen and Thomas Westcomb as a hunting lodge [ca. 1624-1625] for Richard Boyle, the first Earl of Cork (1566-1643). Linear scale present underneath ground plan and written in ink on right of sheet: "Doors...2½ feet wide / Windows....1....by...3 / Walls....2 feet". Written in manuscript hand beneath this is: "the Towers project about 2½ feet beyond the / flat wall in front". This structure is still extant (as part of a larger, extensively reconstructed twentieth century building) and is located close to Lismore in Co. Waterford. Within the Lismore Papers there is a reference to this building, with Boyle having agreed "...with Thomas Allen & his son Tho. [Thomas] Westcomb and Robert Soden, to bwyld [build] me a Lodge in my parck [park]".
