[Postcard] Historic Houses in Dublin [.] George Bernard Shaw 1856-1950. No. 25 Synge Street

George Bernard Shaw was born here in 1856. He began life as an estate-agent's clerk. He was determined to write and after many years of dismal failure his first article appeared in "Tit-Bits" in 1888. Shaw was a powerful dramatic critic, and his own plays greatly influenced the British stage. His plays and books has been translated into nearly every langrage. He ranks now with Molière and Checkov [sic, Chekhov].
