The Ballykissane tragedy : Good Friday 1916
: the first casualties of the Easter Rising /
|Main Creator:||Doyle, Tom, author.|
This book gives a well documented account of the tragedy, both in terms of its prelude and of those locals who came to the assistance of the Volunteers. It goes on to discuss the Rising, examining the consequences for the country and for those involved in the Ballykissane incident. It also looks at how those that died that Good Friday night were later remembered. The book succeeds in re-affirming the story of Ballykissane, so that it takes its rightful place in the history of the 1916 Easter Rising.
