Summary:Fragmentary correspondence of members of the Wolfe family of Co. Kildare, covering the period 1822 to 1851. Included is a transcription of a death bed letter composed by Elizabeth Wolfe to her mother Margaret Wolfe (née Hamilton), a letter from Mary Wolfe, then serving as treasurer of an association concerned with improving the conditions of the peasantry, in which she lists the principal Kildare landowners (2 June 1825), a letter to Lady Charlote Wolfe (née Hely Hutchinson) from D.L. Hutchinson concerning mutual friends and European travel (1826), a letter to Theobald Wolfe of Camden Buildings, Dublin, from P. Wolfe of Blackhall, concerning financial matters (21 Jul. 1831), a letter sent to Mrs. Margaret Wolfe of the Hermitage, Berkshire, the authorship of which is unclear (4 Sept. 1838), a letter from Eliza Ball to her fiancée Theobald George Wolfe (1851) and a letter from George Wolfe of Bishopsland to his uncle Theobald Wolfe (29 May 1852).


Also included is a letter to an unnamed member of the Wolfe family from Richard Wolfe, of Enniskillen, concerning the origins of the Wolfe family, their associations with Ireland and his having been born at the Cape of Good Hope (29 Jan 1870).
