Description: Contains documentation relating to the Anna Liffey Club, of which Philpot Wolfe was a member. Included is a copy of the rules and resolutions of the Anna Liffey Club, signed by Wolfe as its treasurer (31 May 1773), a letter to the Club from Francis Penrose of Naas, acknowledging the financial support he has received from them (9 Nov. 1778), a document, signed by members of the Anna Liffey Club, relating to the expenses incurred by Peter Tone of Blackhall at the Kildare Assizes, where Michael Casey was indicted for robbing Tone (13 Aug. 1784) and a petition of James Murray, travelling dealer, which provides an account of his being assaulted and robbed by a James Nowlan, coming from the fair at Dunlavin, and requesting his financial difficulties to the attention of the Club (16 Aug. 1787).

Also included a letter to Wolfe from his cousin Lord Arthur Kilwarden, concerning his intention of selling the books he has stored in Merrion Square [n.d.] and lists of Sheriffs and Justices of Co. Kildare (18th century); Philpot Wolfe is listed among them.
