| Summary: | Drafts of letters sent to members of the Dublin Castle administration by Col. John Wolfe following his being removed from the Revenue Board, in which he outlines his claims for preferment, states his loyalty to serving British interests over the years and refers to the harsh and unfair treatment he has received from the administration since voting against the Act of Union. Includes drafts of letters to the Lord Robert Hobart (1802), in which refers to his opposition to the Union and the success of those who supported it for reasons of ‘ambition’ and ‘avarice’, to the Lord Lieutenant Charles, Duke of Richmond (Aug. 1813) and to William Downes, the then Lord Chief Justice, in which he seeks assistance in his career advancement (1814) . Also included is Wolfe's summary of an interview he had with Richmond in July 1813. |
