Map of the site of the Mechanics Institute Theatre by architect Joseph Holloway [whose work entailed the conversion of the Mechanics' Institute into a theatre for Irish Theatre Society and National Dramatic company, funded by Miss Anne Horniman (1860-1937)]. Indicated and written on drawing are the dimensions of the rooms present, and within this how the future rooms of the proposed Abbey Theatre would "fit" into the space of the Mechanics' Institute with the location of the stage, stalls and pit clearly indicated, along with the Green Room, the vestibule, the entrance to the stalls and balcony and the pathway facing onto Marlborough Street and the pathway facing onto Lower Abbey Street. Written in black ink lower right on sheet in Joseph Holloway's manuscript hand and signed off by him - "Joseph Holloway MRIAI Architect. 21 Northumberland Road, Dublin".
