Description: Includes letters to Col. John Wolfe of Forenaughts, Co. Kildare, from Richard Boyle, Earl of Shannon, requesting an individual be exempted from 'foreigh duty' (5 Nov. 1796), Richard Nevill, of Furnace, Co. Kildare (20 Sept. 1796), Thomas Pelham, Chief Secretary of Ireland, concerning Wolfe's appointment as Commander of the Militia (31 May 1797), Edward Hendrick of Kerdiffstown, referring to a promotion in the regiment (Nov.-Dec. 1799), Major. J. Aylmer, concerning his plans to resign (1 Jan. 1801), Erasmus D. Burrowes, requesting a posting for his son in the Militia (27 Nov. 1812) and from the then Chief Secretary of Ireland Sir Robert Peel, concerning a claim made by Lieut. Ryder regarding his rank and seniority within the Militia (8 Nov. 1815); Peel's letter includes related documentation. Also included is a letter from Wolfe to J. Bathurst of Bridewell, Co. Kildare, concerning a possible promotion (4 Feb. 1802).
