Description: Includes a certificate, issued by Philip, Earl of Hardwicke and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, appointing Wolfe joint Governor along with William Robert Duke of Leinster (12 Mar 1803), documentation issued to Wolfe as Governor by Hardwicke and Alexander Marsden relating to the Defence of the Realm Act (1803, letters to Wolfe from the Duke of Leinster, concerning Wolfe's appointment as Governor (18 Jul. 1803), a copy of Wolfe's letter to John Foster, in which he speculates on being offered the sole governship of Kildare (11 Nov. 1804), a letter from John Aylmer, concerning his receipt of a commission as Deputy Governor (12 Nov 1807), from Arthur Wellesley, written from Dublin Castle, regarding the appointment of Sheriffs (22 Dec. 1808), from the county magistrates, expressing concern at the 'disturbed state' of the county (28 Mar. 1812) and H. Bow, of Edenderry, concerning his wish not to serve as a Sheriff (27 Jan. 1814).
