Mr. Rory O'Connor.
Black and white lithographic print of Rory O'Connor who was executed [along with Richard Barrett, Liam Mellows and Joe McKelvey] by a firing squad on 8 December 1922 in reprisal for the anti-Treaty IRA's killing of Seán Hales, an Irish Free State T.D., done while Hales was leaving Dáil Éireann on 6 December 1922; another T.D., Pádraic Ó Máille was also shot and badly wounded in the incident.

Varying form of title: Rory O'Connor; member of G.H.Q. staff, I.R.A., from 1916 to his death. In command in Four Courts when attacked by the King's Irish. Taken prisoner in July and "executed" as a reprisal on the 8th of December, 1922.
