Summary:Included a fragment of a letter to a Mr. Congreve of Tramore from George Ridgway, written from Canada, concerning his passage from Ireland to New York and onto Canada and the opportunities for labourers and tradesmen in Canada (1846), a letter to [John] Redmond from Martin Arthur, concerning fundraising in Co. Wateford (1892), a letter to a Mr. Blackett from poet and critic Theodore Watts-Dunton, of London, in which he refers to his having read Edmund Downey’s book ‘In One Town’ (1905), a letter to a Fr. Hannon, from Count Plunkett in which he refers translating a French poem and their mutual friend Downey (1920). Some letters are incomplete and the authorship or recipients unclear.


Also included is a letter Joe Collins, of Rathmines to the 'Waterford News', written in response to an article published in the paper recalling an address given by Jeremiah O’Donovan Rossa in Waterford in October 1903. Collins recalls meeting O’Donovan Rossa in Richmond, New York. (Oct. 1949).
