McClellan to President Wilson protests against Gaffney's recall and corrects allegations made against him. Copy correspondence between Gaffney's brother and Major General Michael Brennan refers to the presentation of a tunic and other memorabilia associated with Roger Casement and the Irish Brigade in Germany.
Casement's letters are written to the Gaffney's from Germany where Gaffney was the American Consul to Germany.
