O'Duffy cannot accept O'Connell's resignation without having further discussions with him. O'Duffy insists that it is his duty to investigate complaints with regard to staff. He came to the conclusion that Bisesttte, Bishop and Dixon could not command the respect of their men and as such he recommended their transfer to instructor positions.
