Description: Ellis, writing to Downey from Defoe Avenue, Kew, refers to literary, publishing and scholarly matters, his meeting with their mutual friend Brinsley Le Fanu, writing a memoir of Sheridan Le Fanu and Downey's son fighting in the war. Included is an article by Ellis for possible inclusion in 'The Waterford News'. His letters are dated 1914-16.

Edminson's letter, written on headed paper of the 'Police Review and Parade Gossip' is dated 28 Nov. 1917.
