A. prisoners in Limerick Prison following a statement to same from Liam Deasy, and that the prisoners were planning on signing Deasy's statement to reduce their sentences. The decision on the issue by the I. R. A. was that "men handing in arms to the enemy were to be treated as traitors and dealt with accordingly. Men signing paper will be treated as deserters".
