Summary:Having heard of their 'liberality to the distressed' Coulahan appeals to the Society to assist the starving poor of the parish of Lusmagh, King's County [Offaly]. She says their situation has become extreme since the stopping of the Public Works, and gives a moving description of people 'nearly naked' and 'scarcely able to walk with hunger and disease'. She mentions that fever and dysentery have broken out.
