Crosthwait says the ship arrived that afternoon, he has received the bill of lading for 38 casks of sugar and the cargo will be dealt with as soon as the ship reaches the quayside.
The letter is written on a single folded sheet, with the address on the outside fold.
Leland Crosthwait was a Dublin sugar and flour merchant, and a founder of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce. John Cross was a Glasgow merchant involved in the sugar trade.
