Description: Duggan's letters to Kavanagh relate to his electioneering with Eamon de Valera during the Clare East by-election in 1917 and his own campaign to get elected in Meath South during the General Election campaign of 1918. He writes of the establishment of Sinn Féin clubs in Co. Meath, speaking at hustings and canvassing in Clare, Meath and Longford between 1917 and 1918, Sinn Fein's organisation at local level in Meath and the influence of local press and Catholic clergy in the campaigns. He also refers in passing to his state of mind on being released from prison in mid 1917.
