Summary: | Kavanagh writes of her having forwarded him shamrock to Lewes Prison for St. Patrick’s Day, her attending a St. Patrick's Day concert in the Mansion House at which the names the Lewes prisoners were read aloud, the censor having blocked parts of his previous letter and her progress in learning Irish. Writing of the Easter Rising she says ‘I often doubt if it was worth the Sacrifice – Pearse, Mc Donagh & all the others – such men will never be replaced’. |
