| Summary: | Typescript of O'Brien's short story 'A Journey', which appeared in the 1974 collection 'A Scandalous Woman'. It is heavily corrected by O'Brien, with the reverse side of many pages also written on (13 sheets). The draft of the story is accompanied by a typed letter to Colin Huggett, dated 11th November 1973, and signed by O'Brien. In it she says that the draft she is sending him is the first, and will not be the same as the story as it will be published the following year. Also, the envelope, typed by O'Brien, in which the manuscript and letter were posted. A brief handwritten note to a George Hall, dated 3rd January 1983; accompanied by its envelope. |
