[Photocard of Charles Stewart ParnelI
William Lawrence, Dublin]
|Main Creator:||Lawrence, William, photographer.|
Photocard of Charles Stewart ParnelI, based on photograph by the Dublin photographer William Lawrence; note this was purchased as part of a lot that included a blank membership card [n.d., ca. 1880-1889] for the Irish National Land League in Australia; this blank membership card is also held in the NLI Ephemera Department at NLI Call Number EPH A747. Both the membership card and this card were framed together [and both may possibly have been owned by the same person?]. On verso is an illustration with the words: "Oilean [Oileán] na nigh agus na naomh" in uncial script. Underneath : "William Lawrence / Portrait Painter / & Photographers / 5 & 7 O'Connell Street Upper / D[ublin]". Some loss of text originally present ; underneath this is a reference to the fact that enlargements are "capable of being made [by Lawrence] to any size [of image] and painted in Oil, Water Color or Crayon[.] All negatives carefully kept".
