The Irish White Cross appeals for funds to tackle unemployment, damage to property, damage to industry, and relief for those dependent on imprisoned family members. The appeal was not "made in the name of any section of people, but in the name of humanity; no political distinctions exist in suffering, and none exist in its relief.".
