O'Brien was investigating the case of Margaret Whitty at the behest of her father John Whitty, following a letter he received from Margaret explaining she had been wounded on the 16th March 1923. John Whitty also notes that Margaret Whitty had been moved to the North Dublin Union, Brunswick St.
