O'Brien states that James Connolly wrote articles about British rule in India that were published in 'The Workers' Republic' in September 1898. [Copies of these articles were given by J.J. McElligott, Governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, to Jawaharlal Nehru, Prime Minister of India, and the two subsequently met to discuss them.] Also included are copies of letters from McElligott and Nehru, the originals of which are MS 13,942/2/1 and 2.
