Larkin had offered to arrange a lecture tour for Connolly in Scotland and England before his imprisonment in Mountjoy Prison, Dublin.
"Clarion Scouts" were a group of socialist cyclists active in circulating the British socialist newspaper 'The Clarion', Shaw is referred to as the secretary of the Clarion Scouts in MS 13,919/11.
