Notes: | The first letter, which is dated 12 December 1958, is short and O'Casey politely acknowledges hearing from Mrs. Fannin that she found his biographical books interesting, and took the trouble to let him know. O'Casey wrote the second letter, dated 4 October 1959, in Irish, and it is accompanied by a typed translation in English. He asks Mrs Fannin what gave her the idea he had given up everything concerning Ireland. He mentions the homespun jersey he wears and the Irish periodicals he reads. He says he has every book published by Club Leabhar. He also refers to a recent appearance on television. Physical description: 3 items. more |
