Broadside poster, black font on buff paper with the words 'This letter was printed and published by Lord F himself at his own peril' [top left] in Thomas Mathew Ray's handwriting. The Lord Ffrench referred to [we declare his support of a repeal of the union] is likely to be Martin Joseph ffrench, 5th Baron ffrench of Castleffrench [also spelt Castle ffrench], Ballinamore, Co. Galway. Ffrench was a barrister who was the Resident Magistrate of Co. Tipperary [1846-1882] and a J.P. [Justice of the Peace].
