John Sweetman, [formerly second president of Sinn Féin (1908-11)] was a contributor to D. P. Moran's 'The Leader' in the 1920's and 1930's, until his death. He was a cousin of Roger Sweetman (Sinn Féin T.D. for North Wexford, 1918-1921) and [Hugh] Gerard Sweetman, solicitor and Fine Gael T.D. for Kildare [1948], later Minister for Finance [1954, Second Inter-Party Government]. |
