Letter addressed from: "Cork".

Written on letter in pencil in a handwriting that is not Mary MacSwiney's: "Mary MacSwiney to Éamon de Valera" although the recipient of the letter is Joseph McGarrity.

Letter discusses how unfortunate it was for Ireland that Éamon de Valera was unable to "gain the majority for this compromise either in the Ard Fheis or in Dail Éireann", a possible reference to the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis of 9 March 1926.

The letter that Mary MacSwiney says she is sending to friends in the US is possibly MS 17,461/7.
