In Collection: Pearse Papers, 1870-1932
Description: Margaret Pearse writes "when I heard it I was very pleased, may your dear little one grow up a good little Irish girl, and when she comes to womanhood and perhaps becomes a mother let us hope if ever she is asked to make a sacrifice for her country I hope she will make it as willingly as the mother whose name her mother and father have chosen for her [...] I hope the sacrifice that was made for her, as well as for us will be sufficient to drive the opp[resso]r out of our dear country and she may live to enjoy that freedom which my dear boys had before them in life".
