Summary:Poster campaigning against the actions of the Irish Land Commission. Text of poster continues: "Mrs. Menton, Widow, and her nine orphans are to be evicted from their farm at Hilltown, Swords, by the Irish Land Commission, who propose handing over the farm to a Horse Trainer who already has five hundred acres of land. This was not the policy that Davitt and Parnell stood for and surely was not the Freedom that Irish Youth Fought and Died for. PEOPLE OF CO. DUBLIN, if you wish to have the Security if Your Own Homes, COME EN MASSE TO THIS MEETING. ALL SENATORS AND T.D.'S ARE INVITED". See Dáil Éireann Debate of Wednesday, 30 May 1928 [Vol. 23 No. 19], regarding Seán Mac an tSaoí's question to Minister for Fisheries, Mr. Roddy concerning the retention by the Land Commission of a farm at Hilltown, Swords, on the Staples and Molesworth Estates, then held by Mrs. Margaret Menton under a judicial tenancy - the farm was originally held by Mrs. Menton's husband, who died intestate.
