Summary:Kees Van Hoek writes of his proposal, accepted by the W.A.A.M.A. Writers' Guild Committe, to hold an Irish Book Fair in the autumn of 1945 to highlight the success of Irish writing and publishing before renewed competition from other countries following the end of Word War II. Kathleen O'Brennan worked on behalf of the Dublin P.E.N. Club to obtain material for use at the Book Fair, held in the Mansion House in September 1945.
