The letter discusses an article written by Floyd Dell. The author also discusses articles printed in 'The World Tomorrow' and 'The Nation' on the Irish independence movement, and notes that an article on the Proclamation  "annoyed them particularly".
Also contains a reference to Éamon de Valera and others being held only as "impertinent rebels" and that "the 'strategic importance' defence is the only defence left to Britain".
