Summary: | Letter from Liam Pedlar to Joseph McGarrity relating news of the death of Harry Boland. Peldar refers to his being with Boland when Boland wrote a letter to McGarrity at the home of Kathleen Clarke, along with a note to "Seán T".. Pedlar describes how this letter ended up in "F.S." hands when the Republican offices at 23 Suffolk Street were raided and the letter was on Seán T.'s desk. Kathleen Clarke's house was subsequently raided by the same forces while Pedlar was present.Pedlar updates McGarrity on the current political situation in Ireland and the recent actions of political and republican parties. He also requests financial assistance for republican prisoners and their families. Pedlar also makes reference to a mutual friend "the 'stout fella'...E.J. Hearh[?]". |
