Description: Shorter praises the poems that O'Brennan sent her and notes that her husband also found them "very good indeed", regretting that she unable to write a poem on the "brave women of 'May Eve'. She also recounts a recent visit to Kilmainham Jail, writing "I have often thought what you must have suffered - for every bullet went through my own heart - but it was good to live through such a time - and good to die".
