|Main Creator:||Dublin Library Society.|
Broadside, [dated January 2, 1812] with an alphabetical list of members of the Dublin Library Society with the name of 'Arthur Grueber, Librarian' at the bottom of the list. 'Counsellor [Daniel] O'Connell' has 'M.L.' and 'C' beside his name in the list [indicating Member for Life as well as member of the Committee]. A column on the right-hand-side of the broadside lists 'New Members for 1812', one of whom is Jasper Joly [either Jean Jasper Joly or his son Charles Jasper Joly]; another is Maurice O'Connell. The Dublin Library Society opened a library in 1791 that was based in Eustace St. Dublin; from 1809 it was based in a building at Burgh Quay and then subsequently from 1820 in a purpose-built building in D'Olier St. The broadside bears the [later] stamp of the 'Library [of the] Loyal National Repeal Association'.
