Notes:A French translation of an anti-revolutionary satire of Dublin origin. The English version has the title : A letter from an eminent legal character: late of Trou-la-Putain, in Dauphine, and now of the city of Dublin, to the Whigs of the Capital (Dublin and London, 1791. Possible authorship was attributed to the Dublin playwright and satirist, Robert Jephson, author of a similar parody of revolutionary politics - Confessions of James Baptiste Couteau. Another possible contender from the same Dublin circle is Thomas Goold (1766-1846), a keen supporter of Burke and author of A vinidication of the Right Honourable Edmund Burke's Reflections. The 'Londres' imprint is likely to be false and there is a possibility that it may have been printed in Dublin.
