Their correspondence largely relates to political matters. Writing on 11 October 1807 Foster refers to a reports on highways and his hopes of speaking to Edgeworth on 'Schools & Education'. In his letter of 10 Sept. 1816 he refers to Edgeworth's brother in law Captain Francis Beaufort's decision not to undertake a maritime survey of Ireland. Edgeworth's letter to him, dated 10 June 1817, refers to his writing a memoir, his ill health and his involvement in political events in Ireland over the course of his career in public life. |
