Summary:Pictet refers to his time spent with the Edgeworth family at Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, engineering as a suitable profession for William Edgeworth and the membership of the Society of Civil Engineers in London, Richard Lovell Edgeworth's visit to France, the high regard in which he is held there and Pictet's recommendations as to who Edgeworth should meet while he is there. Reference is also made to news of Lovell Edgeworth, who was unable to leave France in 1803.
