Description: The writer of the letter refers to [her] having been in England at the time of the declaration of war in 1914, and states 'I shall always be glad that I saw England at that time. The greatness of the way she faced things ..., the utter whole-hearted devotion of the women, the silent bravery of the Nation'. The writer contrasts this with the unchanging situation in India, and the continuing social activities of the British 'at the Club'.
